The story behind this is beyond belief: one of the largest department stores in the UK, John Lewis & Partners, doesn’t own the rights to the twitter handle @johnlewis.
Instead, it’s the property of a Virginia Tech Computer Science Professor named John Lewis. And so when people are spitting internet hate at what they think is a faceless corporate conglomerate, it’s actually landing on the desktop of a loving father of three. Most of us would just disregard it, uninstall twitter, whatever. Not John Lewis the man, though. He responds to it, and guides people back to the digital aisle they were looking for.
So we worked with The Romans, Agile Films, and director Louis Bhose to bring his story to life. They provided the creative, we provided the production services, and in one crazy day in Blacksburg VA, put this spot together.
